What You Should Know About Motorsport

Motorsport, motor sports or motocross is a worldwide term used to encompass the entire collection of highly competitive sporting events that primarily involve the usage of motor vehicles, whether for touring, racing or off-road competition. These motor sports often cross cultural, economical and social divides, and they appeal to the larger or more casual participants as well as the enthusiasts of these motor sports. The most common types of these motorsport events include rallying, Formula one, NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), motorbike racing, touring, drag racing and karting. There are many sub-sets of these categories, and some, like the recently popular rallyingcross event, have developed new ways to keep fans involved in these activities.

A common theme running through the motorsport series racing is the competition between drivers. This includes both individual drivers and teams, known as drivers’ championships. Additionally, there is the concept of the oval track, where multiple, different kinds of automobiles can race side by side. These tracks may be flat out, contoured, or slightly modified with chicanes, curves and more.

One of the most famous motorsport events is Formula One racing. Formula One races use many of the current vehicles that are on the streets and racetrack today and include sports cars, motorcycles, hybrid cars and engines of all sizes. However, Formula One racing is the most dangerous of all motor sports because of the high speed and engineering design. Unlike stock car and motorcycle racing, Formula One cars cannot switch engines during the race. It’s all about using your head, the way you think and your strategy. If you win the Formula One World Championship, you become a member of the elite group of Formula One champions.
